RED WINES

1.    RED WINE (DRY / MEDIUM DRY / SWEET)
A delicious ruby red wine based on the indigenous varieties of Maratheftiko and Lefkada, blended together with the world famous varieties of Shiraz, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Α great opening to blackcurrant, plums and cherries enriched by a pungent spiciness that betrays forest spices.
It is the perfect accompaniment for red meat.
Enjoy it between 16 – 19°C.

2.    MARATHEFTIKO
Maratheftiko is considered to be the Cyprus’s “flagship” when referring to red wines.
It is an indigenous grape variety of superior quality found amongst Mavro stocks in many vineyards. It is difficult to grow and unpredictable. Being a female variety that does not self pollinate (like almost all the other world grape varieties do), It needs to be planted with another variety that flowers at the same time.
We have taken the difficult process of planting this indigenous grape variety to meet the increased demand of this product.
It is an excellent grape that produces deeply colored, elegantly scented wines with a complex and intense nose hinting aromas of cherries, vanilla, blackberries and exotic spices with a good structure and elegant tannins.
The wine from this grape is usually concentrated. The tannins, fragrance, color and structure of Maratheftiko are extremely close to those of a Cabernet Sauvignon and distinctively different at the same time.
It is the perfect accompaniment for red meat.
Enjoy it between 16 – 19°C.

3.    MERLOT
Merlot grapes produce a ruby red wine with soft tannins, smooth acidity and a bouquet of flavors and aromas of good leather, spices, vanilla, cherries and tobacco. Merlot wine is popular with people trying to get accustomed to drier, more complex red wines because of its other characteristics, like low tannins which make it easier to drink than other red wines.
The softer characteristics of Merlot with the fruity flavors make it a red wine that's well-suited to lighter foods that won't overwhelm the flavors of the wine.
It is the perfect accompaniment for chicken and other light meats as well as lightly-spiced dark meats.
Enjoy it between 16 – 19°C.

4.    CABERNET SAUVIGNON
Cabernet Sauvignon grapes are among the most widely grown, widely know, and widely enjoyed grapes for red wine.
Cabernet Sauvignon grapes produce a rich in color full-bodied red wine with dark fruit flavors and savory tastes. It is rich in depth with balanced acidity and strong tannins. Gives a nice bouquet of aromas such as spices, vanilla, tobacco and green pepper.
Red meat in particular is its first love. Everything from burgers to grilled game, sausage dishes, lamb and strong-flavored cheese all find their mark with a Cabernet Sauvignon.
Enjoy it between 16 – 19°C.

5.    SYRAH
Syrah grapes, also known as Shiraz, produce full-bodied, long-lived, fruity wines.
Syrah wines have some of the strongest, most distinctive flavors and aromas of any red wine. With deep purple color and rich round flavors of black cherry, blackberry, plum, pepper and dark chocolate, balanced acidity and tannins.
It is the perfect accompaniment for beef steak.
Enjoy it between 16 – 19°C.
